The landscapes that feature in my works are the ones that I see every day, comforting views that constantly change with the seasons. The Gum Trees in my works have been standing for generations and seem like they will go on reaching to the sky long after we have passed.
We moved to Newbridge in 2022 from Tamworth and the scenery is starkly different to the native scrubby bushland and flat cropping country I left behind. Out here the skies are so close to the hills and the seasons definite. It is these changes in light and its movement that I wanted to capture in my works through textures and layers of colour.
