A Love That Will Never Leave
Original artwork by Carina Chambers
90cm x 70cm | Acrylic, oil pastels & oil stick on canvas | Framed in natural timber
A Love That Will Never Leave is one of the most personal pieces I’ve painted, a tender, evocative landscape that captures the enduring presence of love, memory, and place. The title came from a song lyric that echoed through my studio as I worked, lingering like the last light of day. This piece is a tribute to the kind of love that never really leaves us.
At its heart is a graceful old gum, its branches twisted gently in the breeze and glowing with golden ochre, sage, charcoal, and amber. The sky softens into lilac and blush, casting a dreamy warmth over the land. A second tree rises quietly in the distance—subtle, but deeply grounding, like a familiar voice.
A more natural palette, lifted with delicate pinks and dusky blues, mirrors the Australian countryside in that magical hour just before nightfall. Built with layers of acrylic, oil pastels, and oil stick, the surface holds a richness of texture and depth—an invitation to pause, reflect, and remember.
This semi-abstract landscape is both a love letter to the bush and a quiet exploration of the emotional landscapes we carry within us. It’s for those who find meaning in nature’s quiet beauty, and who know what it is to carry a love that stays.
