I drive the same road daily, taking my kids to and from school and while I often take note of what our neighbours are up to, I rarely get to stop and appreciate the beauty of our countryside. Painting it, however, has given me the space to really feel and experience the landscape around me. Out here the skies are so close to the hills, the trees almost comically follow the fence lines, and the light distinctly changes depending on the season. Here, it’s hay-making season and this paddock is due for a fresh cut while the sun is out and the clouds are fluffy.
