12 x 12 cm Acrylic, oil sticks, and oil pastels on canvas. Framed in raw oak.
The landscapes that feature in my works are the ones that I see every day, comforting views that constantly change with the seasons. The English style Pine Trees, Oaks, and Poplars have been growing for decades, deliberately planted by the pioneers who cleared this land to forge a living as farmers and make a home in the Central West.
We moved to Newbridge in 2022 from Tamworth and the scenery is starkly different to the native scrubby bushland and flat cropping country I left behind. Out here the skies are so close to the hills and the seasons definite. It is these changes in light and its movement that I wanted to capture in my works through textures and layers of colour.
