Original artwork by Carina Chambers
40cm x 50cm | Acrylic, oil pastels & oil stick on canvas | Framed in natural timber

This Night Is Sparkling is an ode to connection, memory, and the invisible threads that tie us to people and places across time. The title came to me while walking through the paddocks one evening, shamelessly listening to some Taylor Swift,  her song Enchanted looping gently in my mind for hours after.

At the centre stands a quiet old gum tree, its white trunk catching the last of the pink light cast across the hills in the background, while its canopy glows in warm ochres, mossy greens, and soft coral pinks. The sky behind it is a dreamy blend of lavender, dusky rose, and rich ultramarine—like the air is humming with the magic of the moment and the anticipation of a sparklingly clear evening ahead and possibly a crisp frost twinkling tomorrow morning.

This painting came to life slowly, layered with acrylic, oil pastels, and oil stick, letting each brushstroke hold the softness of evening and the pulse of memory. The ground beneath is striped with deep greens, blush, and golden tones, like the earth itself is glowing from within.

Filled with hope, happiness and peace, this semi-abstract landscape is my attempt to capture the wonder of golden hour on the farm—the colours richer, the quiet deeper, the connection stronger. It’s for those who find magic in nature, joy in stillness, and beauty in the fleeting light and the excitement of what the night ahead might bring.

Wanna Feel The Heat With Somebody
Original artwork by Carina Chambers
50cm x 40cm  | Acrylic, oil pastels & oil stick on canvas | Framed in natural timber

Named after Whitney Houston’s iconic anthem and painted while listening to it on repeat, Wanna Feel The Heat With Somebody is my tribute to connection, freedom, and the rush of Autumn light spilling across the land.

I painted this piece during a string of cold Autumn mornings in my studio in cool-climate Orange. It was born from mad dancing between brushstrokes - part survival, part joy. The irony of craving warmth while in my freezing studio wasn’t lost on me, and that playful tension hums through every layer.

This expressive Australian landscape features a trio of sunlit gum trees spread across a golden paddock. Their foliage, dappled in warm ochre, soft blush, and leafy green, catches the late afternoon light in full celebration. The sky above is awash with dreamy blues, corals and lavender, glowing as if charged with music and memory. Flecks of pink and light shimmer across the trunks and grass, as if the warmth of the day still lingers just beneath the surface.

This scene is drawn from memory, moments stitched together from time spent walking my dog Butter across the farm, and it’s a joyful nod to those golden hour evenings when the air feels alive with warmth and possibility. Built up with layers of acrylic, oil pastels and oil stick, this semi-abstract work is textured, vibrant, and full of feeling.
